Detroit — Wayne State University Provost Laurie Lauzon Clabo stepped down last week, an email from interim President Richard Bierschbach said, the university's second major leadership shakeup in two months.

Clabo was almost two years into a three-year term as provost when she resigned. Her resignation was "effective immediately," Bierschbach said in the university-wide email sent Nov. 12. The reason for Clabo's departure was not given.

She was appointed by former President Kimberly Andrews Espy in March 2024 after Espy removed her predecessor after an investigation into a whistleblower complaint.
