Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is one step closer to returning to the New York Giants’ lineup ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
Wednesday marked Dart’s first return to practice since suffering a concussion in a Week 10 road loss against the Chicago Bears. Per the practice report, he was in a non-contact role.
Should Dart pass through concussion protocol, he’ll be the likely starter under center for the Giants when they face the Lions on Sunday at Ford Field.
“If he’s healthy and cleared to go (by medical staff), then I’d like Jackson Dart to play,’’ Giants interim coach Mike Kafka told reporters ahead of practice Wednesday. “It’s only if he’s healthy and ready to go, and that’s based on what the doctor would say.’’
