A former Morristown resident was sentenced on Nov. 14 to 25 years in prison for murdering a Cedar Knolls man in 2021.

OTyrell Lansing, 32, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in October.

Morristown Police received a call at 1 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2021 regarding a shooting on Clyde Potts Drive. Police found 35-year-old Raijah Scott with multiple fatal gunshot wounds in a parking lot

Lansing admitted to shooting Scott multiple times in a parking lot before fleeing in August 2021. He was later apprehended in Oklahoma with co-defendant De'Quan McDaniel.

McDaniel pled guilty to third-degree hindering the apprehension or prosecution and was sentenced to a three-year suspended sentence and 250 hours of community
