There are plenty of famous examples of filmmakers improving a movie with a new edit, but here are some of the lesser-known Director's Cuts that need to be seen. Most of Ridley Scott's movies have had director's cuts and he's become the unofficial king of the format, starting with 1982's Blade Runner .
The original theatrical cut of Blade Runner was burdened with a monotone Harrison Ford voice-over and an ill-fitting happy ending. Scott's director's cut removed the VO, reinserted some key scenes and transformed it into a masterpiece . That's the best-case scenario with any DC, with the filmmaker getting to refine their vision for the film.
