Seattle-area gas prices may increase by up to 10 cents a gallon through the Thanksgiving weekend, due to the ongoing partial shutdown of a BP PLC pipeline that’s been leaking fuel into a Snohomish County blueberry field since at least Veterans Day, said petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan of GasBuddy.

Crews have not yet determined how much fuel has leaked, but there have been no reported impacts to wildlife or state waters, said Jasmin Adams, a spokesperson at the Washington State Department of Ecology.

BP has not yet determined what caused a leak in its Olympic Pipeline, which transports jet fuel, gasoline and diesel along much of Western Washington. The multinational oil and gas company is in charge of fixing the leak, but does not have an estimate of when it expects to do so, Adams said.
