ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission hosted a public meeting Wednesday afternoon at 125 Live about a solar power project that would be installed northeast of Rochester.

It has been a big topic within the community. Dozens of community members came to the first meeting to voice their opinions on the issue. Most are opposed due to the aesthetics of it and the impact that it will have on neighboring sites. Including glare, noise, and stray voltage.

The research that has been done on the project states that it will bring more than $30 million in tax revenue over 40 years, with 80% staying in the local area.

Comments from the public are still being accepted until 4:30pm on December 8th. You can email: lauren.agnew@state.mn.us . Send comments by mail to Lauren Agnew,
