SALT LAKE CITY — A Delta Air Lines flight was on a path to Salt Lake City after leaving Honolulu, Hawaii when the plane was forced to divert and land in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
According to Delta, two pilots and six flight attendants prepared 212 passengers for an emergency landing. One of two plane engines required a shutdown while approaching the West Coast.
“Safety comes before all else — that’s why the Delta flight crew followed extensive training and procedures to divert to Los Angeles resulting in a safe landing,” a Delta official said in a statement. “We apologize to our customers for the experience and the delay in their travel.”
The plane, a Boeing 767-300ER, landed safely after taking off in Honolulu on Tuesday and being diverted on Wednesday.
