The United States has approved a $93 million weapons sale to India, clearing the way for New Delhi to receive a fresh batch of Javelin anti-tank missiles and Excalibur precision-guided artillery rounds.
The package includes 100 FGM-148 Javelin missiles, 25 lightweight command launch units, and 216 Excalibur artillery rounds. The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has formally notified Congress of the proposed transfers.
According to the statement issued by the DSCA, the request from India also includes lifecycle support, security inspections, operator training, refurbishing services for the launch units and other related elements necessary for full operational capability.
