ATLANTA — What started out as reports about students being held against their will on a school bus prompted a large police scene in Buckhead Wednesday evening. However, Atlanta Public Schools said that turned out not to be the case.
More than 25 police cars responded to the scene. The bus and police cars were near the intersection of Peachtree Road and Colonial Holmes Drive NW.
11Alive's Cody Alcorn went to the scene, where parents told him that there was a new bus driver along a route, who got confused and lost, which created disorder on the bus.
According to a spokesperson for Atlanta Public Schools, APD officers responded to reports about students being held against their will, but APS said that's not what unfolded.
