It’s been one week since an apartment fire left 22 Edmontonians essentially homeless, and now, the community is helping some pick up the pieces.
“Just genuine disbelief and shock with what just happened,” said Doug Jones, whose life changed in a moment when he found out his apartment in Edmonton’s Canora neighourhood went up in flames.
It’s been one week since the fire, and the building is completely leveled. It left 22 residents displaced, including Jones, who lost not just his home, but valuable items from his children, like cards and letters, all reduced to rubble. A gut-wrenching loss for him.
