KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) - Imagine walking into a house where every room feels like a page in a history book.

That’s exactly what the Charles A. Grignon Mansion in Kaukauna offers.

For decades, it has served as a museum, inviting visitors to step back in time and explore the roots of northeast Wisconsin.

Inside the Grignon Mansion, a square grand piano sits in the front room. With nearly two centuries of history, the sound echoes through the empty home.

“As far as I know, there are maybe 4 other square grand pianos in the state of Wisconsin,” says Mary Grogan-Seleen, the secretary of Friends of the Grignon Mansion.

It’s one of the many original artifacts still preserved inside the home, and its volunteers, like Mary Grogan-Seleen, have helped share its history with visitors for decades.
