FORT WORTH, Texas — If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind pair of cowboy boots, there’s a place in Fort Worth where they’re still made the old-fashioned way.
At Morris Boot Company , tucked near Dickies Arena, Steve Parker hand-crafts each pair from scratch — all 224 steps of the process.
Inside, the space is part workshop, part museum, part music corner, complete with a custom floor made of thousands of pennies — because, as patron Rusty Arnold jokes, “where else do you see that?”
Parker isn’t just any bootmaker. He’s been building custom boots since 1978.
“I’ll never get rich but… we’re comfortable and that’s all we want," he said.
For Parker, the craft is more than skill — it’s identity.
“This is functional art. It’s art you can wear,” said his business partner, John Morris. The
