The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested real estate developer Amit Katyal, who is a close aide of former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, in connection with a money-laundering probe arising from alleged cheating of homebuyers in Gurugram.
Katyal was detained based on findings that emerged during the agency's investigation into a fraud estimated to exceed ₹300 crore, as per News18 Hindi.
Katyal was taken into custody on Monday, November 17, by the ED's Gurugram zonal office under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), as per news agency PTI.
A Gurugram special court subsequently remanded him to six days of ED custody.
