SPINDALE, N.C. —

A person is in custody after a shooting in Spindale, North Carolina, left one person injured.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, officers with the Spindale Police Department responded to a reported shooting at 279 New Hampshire Street.

According to police, preliminary investigation indicates that it began as a domestic situation that escalated into a shooting.

Officers said one person is in unstable condition. The suspect is in custody.

The investigation remains ongoing. No other details have been released at this time.
