LINCOLN, Ala. —

Alabama's entire Motorsports Hall of Fame Commission has been removed and replaced.

A letter obtained by WVTM 13 on Wednesday that was sent by Gov. Kay Ivey's office to board member Gerald Dial at the end of October did not specify the exact reason for the change, stating only that it was "for cause."

"For various reasons, Governor Ivey believes this is the right time for a fresh start at the Hall of Fame. Thank you for your understanding in this matter, and we appreciate your service to the State during your tenure on the Commission," the letter reads.

In October, the state released a lengthy audit detailing over 30 issues found during an examination of the Commission.
