BURTON, MI – Fans of a popular Flint area restaurant will have their chance to return soon to get their Coney dogs, burgers and pancakes.
Starlite Coney Island on Center Road is set to reopen in January 2026 after being closed for months following a vehicle slamming into the side of the building on Aug. 23.
“We’re working hard to put it all back together,” said co-owner Jason Hester. “We’re waiting on some equipment and rooftop back orders.”
Some of the items being waited for include a unit to mount an HVAC unit on the roof, refrigeration equipment, and a new cooking line.
“It’s a hurry up and wait game unfortunately,” he said.
Ownership had to remove everything from the kitchen to make structural repairs to the building, which was cracked in two locations from the impact.
