After months of sharp political attacks, President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani are expected to meet on Friday in Washington, D.C., according to the president and a Mamdani spokesperson.

Trump reportedly confirmed the sitdown earlier this week, saying, “ We’ll work something out .” Throughout the campaign, the president falsely labeled Mamdani a communist, threatened to deport him and cut off federal funding to the city.

"Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran 'Kwame' Mamdani, has asked for a meeting," Trump said on Truth Social on Wednesday night. "We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st. Further details to follow!"
