FISHERS, Ind. — The Bloomington Bison used a four-goal first period to storm past the Indy Fuel Wednesday night at the Fishers Event Center.
The Bison struck quickly in the opening period, as Parker Gavlas and Daniel Tedesco scored 28 seconds apart to give the visitors a 2-0 lead less than 3 1/2 minutes into the game.
Later in the period, with a tripping penalty against Indy's Brett Moravec winding down, Nikita Sedov found the net for a power play goal and a 3-0 lead. Exactly 2 1/2 minutes later, with Jordan Martin sitting for a hooking penalty, Eddie Matsushima scored the fourth Bison goal of the period and second on the power play.
Martin spoiled the shutout bid for Bloomington goalie Dryden McKay, scoring off assists from Tyler Kobryn and Dustin Manz with just under three minutes t
