LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Improvements to public safety and city infrastructure could be on the way for Conway.

Tuesday's special election, officials coined as the " pick six ", asked voters to decide on six tax and bond questions

"The bar is really high for any time you're looking to for a tax increase and so, uh, voters yesterday focused on the essentials they solved the real problems related to public safety capital, uh, streets and drainage infrastructure and showed a willingness uh to tax themselves to address those needs," Jamie Gates, Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, said.

Unofficial results show voters approved the two questions tied to essential services.

Meaning that the sales tax rate will increase from 1.75% to 2.125% to fund public safety and infrastructure needs.
