HANSON, Mass. —
At a school committee meeting Wednesday night, teachers and families packed the Whitman-Hanson High School auditorium to let officials know they're not happy with the fiscal mismanagement that's costing 23 staffers their jobs.
Emotions ran high as the school committee spent more than 2 and a half hours in executive session.
When they came out, committee members were mum about what was discussed.
Many attendees hoped it was a change of leadership.
"It felt really wrong that some of the teachers that really care the most about us are getting cut," said Shannon Balfe, a high school senior. "I wish the people who caused the problem could be held responsible more for the problem."
Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak did not attend the meeting.
