JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — The deal to sell the historic Casa Marina Hotel to Corner Lot, a real estate development group, fell apart, and now we’re hearing from those affected by the now-canceled plans.
“It kind of took the wind out of my sails, I got really upset when we had to cancel and change venues," said Nanette Fernandez.
Fernandez, a bride-to-be, was planning on getting married at the Casa Marina. She describes what she felt after hearing about the potential sale of the hotel in June.
“Panic, I immediately called my fiancé; he was not on the original email — just me," Fernandez said.
Like Fernandez and her fiancé, many couples who heard the news of a sale this past summer thought their weddings would be put in jeopardy.
