OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Crews wrapped up repairs on a Watermain that broke Tuesday evening on Russell Avenue in Ocean Springs, cutting off water at nearby homes and downtown businesses.
The Ocean Springs Public Works Department says it’s been working to upgrade that particular water main for months, by replacing aging asbestos concrete pipes with plastic pipes.
Public works director Allan Ladnier said the main broke when crews were finishing up the upgrade.
“[We] made the repairs were tightening everything back up, thinking we were done in about 4 feet behind the repair. The AC line ruptured again,” Ladnier said.
