On Wednesday at 11:28 p.m. a dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Thursday at 9 a.m. for Northern Centre as well as Elk, Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, Blair and Somerset counties.

"Visibility below one quarter of a mile in dense fog," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "The fog is occurring while temperatures are around or even below freezing in some areas. This could lead to some moisture freezing on the roads, mainly on the bridges and overpasses."

"Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Moisture may also freeze onto roads and bridges, making icy patches," comments the weather service. "If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you."
