CROTHERSVILLE, Ind. —
Fifty years after Crothersville High School played its first sanctioned girls basketball game, the Tigers reunited on their home court — fittingly, against the same opponent from that inaugural season, the Borden Lady Braves.
“I’m just so glad for the turnout. I hope the younger kids can realize that memories last forever,” said Rita Cook, a 1975 Crothersville player.
For many, the celebration was a chance to reconnect across decades and state lines.
“It’s been great reconnecting with everyone. We’ve had people come from Indianapolis as well as North Carolina to reunite with the Borden team,” said Myra Powell, a 1975 Borden player. “This has been phenomenal, and we greatly appreciate Rita and all of her efforts.”
