What happened with Temba Bavuma was disgraceful. Calling him “bauna” was no banter; it was ugly, racist, indefensible. That it came from Indian cricketers, who’ve faced discrimination themselves abroad, makes it more shameful. He’s led South Africa to great cricketing heights with calm dignity. This composure only raises his stature.
