President Donald Trump has repeatedly touted Walmart’s Thanksgiving deal as proof that inflation is receding. But while doing so, the president has not mentioned important details about how the meal package has changed.

Trump followed the same pattern Wednesday while speaking at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington.

“Walmart just announced that the cost of their standard Thanksgiving meal is reduced by 25% this year from last year,” he said, without further elaboration.

Walmart did drop the price of its annual Thanksgiving dinner package, from $55 last year to $40 this year. However, the retail giant’s 2025 meal is designed to feed eight people instead of 10 and includes six fewer products, three downsized items and more generic brands.
