SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs used a hot start and solid defense down the stretch to hold off a Regina Pats comeback attempt, winning 3-2.
Spokane's Gavin Burcar opening scoring in the first period, the first home first period lead the Chiefs had in over a month.
Nolan Saunderson scored the second first-period goal, and Spokane held that 2-0 lead into the third period, where twice Regina brought the Chiefs lead to one goal but never tied the game.
Spokane next sticks at home this Saturday against the Victoria Royals, puck drop at 6:05 p.m.
