LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The first season of John Smoltz’s Strikeout Baseball Facility in downtown Lansing has been very successful, and as creator Jeff Lazeros gets set to shut it down for the winter this week, Wednesday afternoon under sunny skies the final game of the season was played.
Lazeros, along with Michigan State baseball coach Jake Boss, Jr., and other local businessmen and baseball players, drew up teams and played the last game at the stadium until next spring.
Lazeros and Boss feel this concept not only works but could catch on and spread to other parts of the state and perhaps even around the country.
