Those who intend to seek Community Development Block Grants for disaster recovery no longer have a Nov. 28 deadline to file their paperwork. According to the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, there is no set date for the intent to apply or the actual application to be submitted.
Specifically known as the New Mexico Home Recovery Program, it will provide relief for Roswell and broader Chaves County flooding in October 2024, as well as the South Fork and Salt Fires, with related flooding from June to August 2024.
This $100 million fund is for repairing, reconstructing or building homes in Chaves and Lincoln Counties that were damaged by these two disasters that happened last year.
Uses eligible for home recovery range from structural and interior repairs
