A sombre mood filled Limbe Cathedral on Wednesday as mourners gathered for the funeral mass of 33-year-old medical doctor Victoria Bobe, who served at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and lectured at KUHES.
She was killed by unknown assailants who entered her compound in Chigumula.
Dr. Bobe was later laid to rest at Misesa Cemetery after a mass led by Blantyre Archdiocese Vicar General Rev. Fr. Boniface Tamani, who described her death as a great loss to the nation.
Speaking on behalf of the family, George Nnesa urged government to consider reinstating the death penalty, citing rising cases of brutal killings.
