India batting coach Sithanshu Kothak has said that a final call on Shubman Gill's participation in the Guwahati Test will only be made on the eve of the match. Kothak revealed that the team will be cautious with their approach on Gill as they don't want a recurrence of the neck spasm.

Gill suffered the injury during Day two of the Kolkata Test and couldn't take further part in the match as he had to be taken to the hospital. While the Indian captain did travel with the team , latest reports suggest that he could be a doubt for the ODI series against the Proteas . Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Kothak said that the 26-year-old is recovering well, but the final call will be taken by the physio and the doctors.
