A Warwickshire sportsman has been charged after he was allegedly found with a knife in the West Midlands. Cricketer Recordo Gordon was stopped in Birmingham .

Police patrolling Erdington as part of Operation Skybridge spotted a suspected stolen car on Sutton Road. Searches were conducted, and a machete was found.

Gordon, 34, was arrested and subsequently charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon, according to West Midlands Police . He will be appearing at Birmingham Magistrates' Court in December.

Gordon, who played with England stars Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott at Warwickshire , signed for the Bears in 2011. He made his first-class debut in 2013 against Oxford MCCU.
