SANTA ANA, Calif. - A 60-year-old man, a former resident of Warren, Ohio, has been convicted in California for sexually assaulting two children and attempting to lure a four-year-old girl to a hotel room for sexual abuse. The conviction, handed down last week, involves a case that authorities say uncovered child victims dating back several decades.

Jason Valentine Esparza was found guilty of numerous serious charges, including multiple counts of child molestation and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sex crime.

According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, the long-standing nature of the offenses means victims are spread across both Orange and Los Angeles counties in Southern California.
