The Prince and Princess of Wales had a night out Wednesday at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the annual Royal Variety Performance.
The couple missed the last two years of the event while the princess focused on cancer treatment. She is now in remission.
Attending the Royal Variety Performance has been a royal family tradition since 1921, under King George V.
Last year, King Charles attended solo.
Scheduled performers this year included the cast of “Paddington: The Musical,” pop star Jessie J, Grammy Award-winning singer Laufey, and the English band Madness.
Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins performed the national anthem.
Before heading inside, Princess Catherine greeted 9-year-old twins Emelie and Olivia Edwards, who presented her with flowers.
She asked whether they were fans of Paddington; when they said yes, she replied that her children would be very sad to have missed the performance — and to keep it a secret.
The event raises money for the Royal Variety Charity, which supports entertainment industry professionals in need.
