ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A person was killed in a shooting Wednesday night in Zebulon.
According to a Zebulon spokesperson, multiple agencies responded to a reported assault after a 911 call around 6:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Taramar Lane. While en route, authorities learned the caller was also the victim and had been shot.
Upon arrival, Zebulon police secured the scene and attempted to assist the victim. A dog charged at the officers, forcing them to shoot the dog to gain entry into the home.
The suspect was arrested, but the victim died from their injuries. Neither of their identities have been released.
The investigation is ongoing, with support from the Wake County Bureau of Forensic Services. Authorities confirmed this was an isolated incident.
