A 48-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene in University City early Thursday, police said.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of 33rd and Market streets on Drexel University's campus in the University City section of West Philadelphia.
