Scotland's big freeze has officially been extended after the Met Office issued two more warnings for ice. The national forecaster has put out a number of weather alerts this week as the winter chill really kicked in.
There are currently five warnings in place across the UK, mostly in exposed coastal regions. The biggest is a 51-hour snow and ice warning for central and northern Scotland, stretching from Perthshire to Shetland.
Another yellow alert for snow and ice is in place for England's North East, extending north of the border as far as Eyemouth. These warnings are due to expire at 9pm and midnight, respectively.
