Bhubaneswar: As the authorities intensified the crackdown on suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators across Odisha on Thursday, police raided the house of the prime accused who allegedly provided shelter to illegal intruders in Jagatsinghpur district.

Sources said Jagatsinghpur police conducted raid at the residence of Sikandar Alam, who allegedly provided rented accommodation to Bangladeshi infiltrators, in Dhani Pur slum area under heavy security deployment. ADVERTISEMENT

To ensure smooth search operation, two platoons of force were mobilised during the raid, which forms part of the statewide operation directed by the Odisha government to identify and act against illegal migrants.
