Two persons were killed and two others injured in an accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Thursday when a car rammed into the rear of a moving truck near Lakshmipura village. This is the second such incident within a span of two days.

The four occupants of the car, bearing a Surat -registration number were travelling to Ahmedabad when the accident occurred due to changing lanes and overtaking, a survivor said.

The deceased have been identified as Mehul Galani (27) and Ashwin Patel (48) while the survivors are Prashant Gamecha and Umesh Virani – all residents of Surat. Virani, who escaped with injuries said, “The truck had changed lanes while our car was overtaking another truck, which is when the collision happened.”
