The BJP on Thursday accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of resorting to “theatrics” over the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, alleging that she is trying to prevent the deletion of names of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators from the state’s electoral rolls.
The allegation came after the Chief Minister wrote to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar earlier in the day, demanding an immediate halt to the revision process.
