Srinagar, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday dismissed circulating social media posts regarding the accidental blast at Police Station Nowgam, calling them misleading and basedh on unfounded speculation.

In a statement, police said that several unverified posts and claims regarding the incident have been shared online, which are “efforts to mislead the public.”

The statement reiterated that the blast on November 14, 2025, occurred accidentally during the process of collecting samples from a large cache of recovered explosives. The procedure was being carried out by experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory when the incident took place, it reads.
