Scary incident, Brookpark Road: On Oct. 18, police were dispatched to the Haunted House regarding an assault at the Brookpark Road attraction.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a patron assaulted a security guard.

The Mentor resident was arrested for simple assault.

Theft, Brookpark Road: On Oct. 18, a Home Depot loss prevention officer observed a customer stealing merchandise from the Brookpark Road store.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said they attempted to detain a thief suspected of stealing items valued at more than $175.

However, the man dropped the loot and fled the store.

The officer located the suspect, who was arrested for petty theft.
