NEWARK - Thousands of Newark residents lined up outside Weequahic High School on Monday as Mayor Ras J. Baraka joined HelloFresh, nonprofit Table to Table, Sunrise ShopRite of West Caldwell and Italian dessert company Bindi North America to distribute full Thanksgiving meal packages.
Boxes containing 13-pound turkeys, bell peppers and apples were stacked high and filled Weequahic High School gymnasium, with police officers, firefighters and Newark high school students all volunteering to package Thanksgiving dinners and load boxes with food onto delivery trucks.
