A fresh controversy has erupted at Dhubri’s Bholanath College after a student accused two mathematics professors of intimidation, triggering continuous protests on campus under the leadership of ABVP since Monday, November 17.
According to the allegations, senior Mathematics professor Sahjahan Hussain Sarkar and professor Fahim Sayed pressured a first-semester BA student, Parinita Roy, to quit the ABVP.
The student claimed that ABVP members had been threatened “in several ways,” and that the situation escalated when professor Sahjahan allegedly visited her home carrying a basket of sweets, urging her to leave the organisation.
She further accused him of making demeaning remarks about her financial condition.
