NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four main suspects linked to the deadly blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to six. The four accused were apprehended in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, following production orders from the District and Sessions Judge at Patiala House Court.
The arrested individuals are Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, Dr. Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian. According to the NIA, they played significant roles in the attack that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
The investigation gained momentum after the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay on October 19, which revealed a conspiracy to conduct anti-India terror activities. Prior to the latest arrests, the NIA had already detained two other suspects: Amir Rashid Ali, who owned the car used in the blast, and Jasir Bilal Wani, who provided technical support to the attackers.
The NIA is actively interrogating all suspects to uncover the full extent of the terror conspiracy. The agency, which took over the investigation from the Delhi Police shortly after the incident, is collaborating with various state police forces to track down all members of the terrorist module involved.
The blast, which occurred around 7 PM on November 10, resulted in the deaths of 15 people and left over 30 others injured. The NIA has examined 73 witnesses, including victims, and is pursuing multiple leads to identify additional individuals connected to the attack. The agency is also reviewing evidence and has seized vehicles related to the incident as part of its ongoing investigation.
