The Class 2A Greater St. Helens League will again be represented at the 2A girls soccer state semifinals.

That’s nothing new.

Columbia River is making its ninth consecutive trip to the state final four. The Rapids have advanced that far every year since dropping down from 3A to 2A in 2016.

This year, the 2A GSHL will have two representatives after No. 6 Hockinson knocked off No. 3 Sehome 1-0 in the quarterfinals last Saturday.

But even that is nothing new.

This is the fourth consecutive year — and sixth time in the past seven state championships — that the 2A GSHL has sent at least two teams to the state semifinals.

And the past three years, the state champion has come from the 2A GSHL, after back-to-back titles by Ridgefield and River’s state title in 2022.
