MUSKEGON, MI – Videos allegedly depicting two women dying after violent attacks were among the arguments Muskegon County prosecutors made to keep a man in jail pending the outcome of his criminal cases.

Shelenthia Willis and Sasha Spears were killed hours apart in Muskegon Heights. Their deaths have been referred to as “brutal.”

The suspect in both homicides, Deangelo Lonell Aubrey, was arraigned Wednesday, Nov. 19, on two counts of open murder. Aubrey had dated each woman at different times, police said.

Few details of how Willis and Spears died have been released but Muskegon County Assistant Prosecutor Katie Norton described the alleged killings as “some of the most brutal ways a person can be killed.”
