Rachel Reeves has seen her popularity fall to a record low and on a par with former Tory Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng after the disastrous “mini-Budget,” according to a new poll.
The YouGov survey found 69% of adults in Britain view her unfavourably, up six points since last month, with just 12% favourably, giving her a net score of -57.
In October 2022, the month after the “mini-Budget” which caused economic turmoil during Liz Truss’ brief premiership , Mr Kwarteng was seen unfavourably by 64%, favourably by 8%, giving him a net result of -56.
In more positive news for Ms Reeves, the UK posted better economic growth in the year to September than Germany, France or Italy, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development.
