AUSTIN, Minn. — The Austin Utilities (AU) Board of Commissioners has approved the 2026 budget and rate adjustments, saying it aims to maintain cost stability for residents and small businesses. AU says despite a 4.2% increase in water rates and a 0.5% rise in gas rates, electric rates will see a 1.9% decrease, balancing overall costs based on typical 2025 usage.
