For the 50th time, First Night Boston will help kick in the new year with performances, programming, and fireworks.

New England’s largest New Year’s Eve party, the event was the first event of its kind on Dec. 31, 1976, and its legacy of elevating the arts and talent of Boston has continued into its golden anniversary.

With its main stage returning to City Hall Plaza for the third consecutive year, the event will add daytime programming to Copley Square and other areas around the city. The free and family-friendly event runs from 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 until 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.
